Lets talk about TAROT 🃏

Lets talk about TAROT 🃏

Consider this: I give Sara and Lee a knife. Using this knife, Lee kills 2 innocent people stabbing them to death. Using this knife, Sara chops up all of her favorite fresh ingredients and goes on to make the most delicious bowl of vegan chili. Same tool used for 2 completely different purposes. Is the knife/tool evil? Or was it the person, the energy, the intention that drove its use?

------

If you come from a religious background, you're probably thinking tarot is evil and was taught people talk to demons and are living a life of darknesssssss (muahh ha ha!... that's my evil laugh). If you grew up with no religion and you're just discovering what a higher power is to you, hopefully this blog serves you well! I feel you come to the table a bit more open minded because well... you haven't been brainwashed by dogmatic practices.

Tarot started out as a card game in the 1400's in Italy, called Tarocchi, or Triumph. It was something like a game of modern day bridge, they did not carry occult meanings until the 18th century.

It wasn't until someone named Antoine Court de Gébelin published a series of French volumes called “The Primeval World, Analyzed and Compared to the Modern World,”where he theorized that tarot cards came from Egypt and contained the secret wisdom of Thoth. Around the same time, Jean-Baptiste Alliette, wrote Etteilla which popularized tarot divination and made a living. Other influencers, which included Catholic priests, popularized the notion that tarot symbols were somehow connected with the Hebrew alphabet, and thus to the Jewish mystical tradition of Kabbalah.

Today, tarot cards are used by different people with different intentions all over the world! They are not married to ONE particular religion but they're heavily presumed to be linked to Witchcraft (I would say thanks to the media). I hear a lotttttt of judgement and opinions when it comes to practicing tarot and hey, can ya blame me? I grew up catholic so It's no secret some religions are against this tool.

In all fairness the Bible isn't against tarot cards DIRECTLY just the practice of divination. Tarot didn't exist during biblical times. Deuteronomy 19: 10-12 "Let there not be found among you anyone who immolates his son or daughter in the fire, nor a fortune-teller, soothsayer, charmer, diviner, or caster of spells, nor one who consults ghosts & spirits or seeks oracle from the dead. Anyone who does such thing is an abomination to the lord..." Due to this association with divination, tarot would be considered prohibited in the Bible.

Side note here: "...nor one who consults ghosts & spirits" One third of the holy trinity ... is a SPIRIT. Father, son, and the Holy Spirit. However, I am not here to debate religion because sincerely I respect all religions that are of the light! Spirituality is just a broader perspective of religion.

Although there are people out there that use tarot for spell casting, and to contact the dead, the cards are not tied to simply one use. Others, seek enlightenment, seek wisdom, seek GOD through tarot. We do not desire to know the future, we desire understanding, wisdom, to connect with the all that is GOD - we are truth seekers. We understand energy and honor intuition. It is very important to note, the cards are NOT GOD. Me personally, I use the cards to commune with my God. They are quite literally just a deck of cards with some pretty pictures that represent archetypes and situations. The messages that I hear comes from the spirit of God and all of his creations around me. It is the skill, the energy, the connection with your higher power, the intention of the reader that makes them come alive. The cards do not show me the future for the future is not yet written, it is water flowing through the universe. The cards only show me a possibility. When I read cards I call on the holy spirit to guide me, to speak through me. I call on the angels to protect me. I even call on my ancestors who are of the light to walk with me as I open myself up to what I consider to be a sacred practice. But hey! To some this is considered evil.

This conversation can get very dense very quickly, we didn't even touch on psychic abilities and Clair-gifts! In short - being children of god, and one with the universe, every singe one of us are born with spiritual senses; the most commonly known gift is intuition. Most of us shove them down because we are in constant motion and we don't honor ourselves enough to be still and listen to the gentle whisper. People who meditate, and prioritize stillness tend to be more in tune with spirit and their spiritual gifts. I have noticed people who cannot prioritize stillness or cannot understand their direct link to GOD, turn to religion.

I think it is fair to speculate even the holiest of articles can be fueled with dark intentions. There are plenty of people who use tools of spirituality for dark motives - let's talk about the bible itself. California 1968, David Brandt Berg, a pastor and evangelist for the Christian and Missionary Alliance, formed a religious group called Children of God. COG thoroughly preached that God is love and love is sex. The Pro-Pedophelia Cult used scripture to encourage his female followers to practice "flirty fishing". Based upon on Jesus' injunction in Matthew 4:19, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men," he instructed his female followers to go to bars, pick up men, and seduce them into converting and joining Children of God.

Hopefully this blog gave you a new perspective of tarot. There is so much ground to cover in regards to spirituality, frequency & vibrations, religion, astrology, metaphysics, occultism, dogma, mysticism, etc. There is no way I can cover them all in one post, however these types of conversations excite me! If there is one thing I would like you to take away, it would be to keep an open mind and an open heart when it comes to spirituality. There are plenty of religions that seek and worship god, but keep in mind - GOD has no religion.
